SHALLOTTE, NC -- Brunswick County’s residential real estate market is heating up as summer approaches, according to statistics released today by the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR). Average sale prices and new listings were up last month, while the average number of days a home stays on market fell to approximately 80 days. The average sale price in April increased from $269,999 in April 2018 to $292,651 last month, an 8.4% increase. April’s average sale price is the highest so far in 2019.
“The ratio between sales price and original list price was 97 percent in April, the highest in the past year,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “This demonstrates that Brunswick County REALTORS® are doing a great job of understanding the market and working with sellers to accurately price properties. The market is heating up, and all signs point to a strong summer.”
April saw 37 sales of $500,000 or greater, with the largest being a $2.2 million transaction on Bald Head Island.
